The only thing with alcohol that I have found is not the taste change. It makes my already weak muscles weaker. so, keep to one, once in a while.

I dropped coffee and spicy foods. Still get down an occasional good quality IPA microbrew, but can't tolerate anything from the giant nationwide breweries.
It's not so bad. There's still plenty of interesting food & drink!

I self-diagnosed prednisone caused anhedonia (no pleasure from usually pleasurable activities). My idea was prednisone stopped most of the brain release of dopamine -- the feel good chemical.
Researchers induce anhedonia in lab rats by large doses of dexamethsalone (very similar to prednisone).

My doctors were skeptical, but accepted my own interpretation of why I was having no enjoyment in life as an acceptable cognitive therapy that was self initiated (which I think meant -- he isn't complaining anymore, so let's not rock the boat...)
