SS Disability Evaluation

I went to see the SS Doc today who told me that even tho I had MG it was not a disabling disease. He said the breathing issues and weakness in my legs and fatigue issues as well as blurred vision were not conected to Mg . I had taken along information from MGA to show him but he refused to even look at it.

The system is SO unfair....you feel bad enough as it is and then you need to fight your way through the crap and ignorance. I am asking for Reasonable Accommodation so I can keep working and they are sending me for a medical review to a doc who I am sure has NO idea what MG is never mind the rarer form I have.....it will be a 5-6 hour trip for this useless exam. I am going armed with loads of medical documentation including Journal articles....but like you...will they even look at it??? Sucks! I am so sorry for you. What an aggravation - just when you don't need one! Hang in there .... and in the meantime get an attorney - they take a percentage of your back pay but now days it seems to be the only way............

I'm so sorry to hear this Charlie. I'm floored by the response you got too. Excuse my language here, but that guys is an ASS! He obviously didn't do his homework and you are the unfortunate soul that has to put up with his ignorance. I agree with CJ. He needs a doctor himself to have his head examined. I wish that it weren't so hard or complicated. I think the SSD lawyer is the best way to go. Please keep us posted. Hugs!

so sorry that happened! terrible! Ross you said you used SSLG, I just looked them up, can I ask how much groups like that charge? Just wondering what to expect in fees if i use them...I hope it works the next time you try Charlie, it better!!!

No experience myself ince my weakness came post retirement but a friend with another serious ailment hired a team. They took their part out after she got her settlement with backpay. I am not sure how much they took but it might have been 25% of what was owed. They will owe you from your first filed claim I believe. Someone correct this if that is an error.

Your SS worker was not qualified for his job! He showed his unpreparedness in his unprofessional responses. Don't get discouraged. It seems you got the luck of the draw but as others have said here and was true of my friend, do not give up. Call a legal team.Ask up front what per cent age they take. There are 2-3 well known ones but one advertises as taking less not sure which.

In my case there has been no out of pocket over the last 16 months. I just had my hearing last week. If the judge rules in my favor my lawyer will receive 25% of my back pay up to 6000.00. This will be payed directly to him by SSA.
