Take care
I also have asthma and know the fear you talk about . Usually a cold turns into a nasty bout of bronchitis and I have to get abreathing Tx. at doc office, esp if I don't jump on my treatment plan right away. Oh yeah I will also take nyquil a couple nights to ensure proper rest.
I know not everyone can tolerate certain meds, so this is what works for me, proceed with caution. Handwashing is Huge!!!
Hope your kids avoid the dc68, I heard it causes ahigh fever and a really bad cough where you can't catch your breath, double whammy for asthmatics!!

First of all, sorry you have it....and will hope that you get care if you need it with your asthma especially it can really cause more problems.
Will hope your children do not get it!
Everyone here already gave you very good advice. Clean surfaces more often.....Wash hands more frequently and have your childfren do the same.......and cover your cough even wearing a mask if needed.
Hope you are better soon! Marie
