I've had at least 3 rituxan infusions. Its 2 infusions 14 days apart every 6 -8 months due to insurance fihhts.last spring I started having severe elbow,wrist and finger pain especially while sleeping. Not sure if it wakes me up or it starts when I wake up. Went to rheumatologist everything was normal
. Had rituxan in Feb this time I've had utis in March April and may which is a sideefect. Last night when I couldn't sleep I wondered if it is a side effect even though it's used for rheumatoid arthritis. Hope it's a good day

Joint pain is one of the listed side effects for rituxan. However, one should never dismiss a new symptom as a side effect, and so persist with getting medical advice, as it could be something new starting unrelated to the treatment or disease.
You should be able to have the doctors narrow it down to nerve damage, joint damage/inflammation, etc. If your rheumatologist says it isn't in her field of medicine, ask her whom to see next, i.e. neurologist or ??
Also you can tell somewhat by which, if any, pain killer helps. Gabapentin helps with nerve damage (my wife tried it for back pain due to pinched nerves). Prednisone and NSAIDs deal with inflammation. Does an over the counter pain killer improve the pain?
