Are on anther medicine or just prednisone? What dose are you at?

Hi there..I also wonder what dose you are taking?? I have been on for 6 years and am down to 2.5mg per day.....I get eye exams regularly cause my eyes every year are worse and have to get new prescription but so far no cataracts or glaucoma..But my optomologist did warn me to make sure and have my regular exams because of the prednisone and MG in general...So not sure if yours have come from that or not.....And wonder also are you on any other meds?? What do you do?

1. Go to an ophthalmologist?
2. Depending if you have generalized MG or just ocular, you may want to get a new protocol to treat MG. If you only have OMG, predinsone will help prevent OMG becoming GMG in the first two years. I posted a that research study in another thread.

I am currently on 60mg per day and mestinon. I have also had rituxan treatments, plex, and ivig. I had a crisis almost 2 years ago and have not gotten better. I also have CLL and that has been treated with the rituxan. I am only working 3-4 hours each day. The treatments are so inconsistent. The doctor does not listen to me. Talk to him today and it is like this is good as it gets.

I live in Texas. I can go anywhere for treatment if insurance will approve.

Then may I encourage to find another doc. I had one that did help, listen or prescribe. My current neuro gave me his cell and encourages me to constantly update him.

Please, make the time to find one that will care for you with compassion.

I decided that is what I am going to do is find another doctor. My PCP is my best advocate and I am seeing her next week.

My neuro is the hardest to get an appt with... I had to have other MDs that are personal friends to call him personally to get an appt. Do what you can to get it sooner than the staff will allow you. Otherwise, my appt would have been months away.

Ps In my post wasnt just saying to go to optomologist just saying is something with the ocular type of MG that should be done every year...I agree that going to another PCP or Neuro that WILL listen to you and be compassionate is the most important thing....Good luck with your new appointment....Jacki

PSS DM that last ps was also for you...Sounded as though you were mocking my comments and didnt appeciate that at all...We are all here to support and help each other...I may not have the best advice and not an expert but have lived with MG for the past 7 years and was just saying its important to go to optomologist every year as he was referring to having cataracts.....Definately going to another dr or neuro is certainly more important and finding a dr who listens etc is the top priority.....Im here because MANY here have helped and supported me and I listen to all the advice they have to give....Thats what it is all about and not feeling alone....Just saying.......Sorry Clark to add that to your post again I wish you luck and new dr...Give them heck and get them to listen!
