Hi, and welcome to the group! If mestinon works, it sure would appear you have MG.
People with MG do have problems swallowing, talking and with the throat. Before treatment worked, I had trouble with all of those plus chewing, and even holding my head up straight at times. I took my mestinon before eating and it helped to get me through it.
I can't remember throat problems when I had breathing problems, maybe because the breathing problems were so scary, I didn't think about much else.
With mestinon (a lot and taken as needed -- up to 60 mg every few hours), i got by until prednisone started working and then most of my MG symptoms went away.

I am very similar to your story. I too have breathing issues which is my biggest issue (to me), I also become hoarse and breathy. I recently started mestinon and see a big difference In a short period. I don't feel 100% but at least I don't feel like I'm suffocating. Best of wishes to you!!!

I should also add my labs have been negative. Awaiting sfemg.

I have some problems nearby to yours .. you have not think about that all the times and take the mestinon when you feel this issues it will help you and you will see the difference but if you take it already try to increase the quantity of it :) good luck ❤️

I too am waiting for a dx from a neuro. Since 9/15.... Two common antibodies negative and EMGs negative, A GI doctor dx'd MG (not the first a neuro eye exam in 9/15 also dx'd but this was never listened too...) and is prescribing mestinon. I do see neuro at a large hospital in June - a MG sepcialist. Anyhow.. I remeber telling my PCP back in 2015 that at times it felt like the roof of the back of my mouth was falling into my throat. I felt like I was choking, my voice was nasal and hoarse and I would have trouble breathing. Was always told it was COPD but I did not wheeze and when I tried I could take a full clear breath it just wore me out... At this same time I would have difficulty opening my eyes and holding up my head. Mestinon has helped. I only get the choking weird sensation now when mestinon is wearing off and I am talking a lot or having to sit without support for my upper back/ neck.

hey! i also have trouble with my throat, vocal chords and my tongue. right now i am at home on medical leave because in the past few days i could barely speak, my MG is acting up (whenever i have an infection my MG gets worse). i am a teacher, but when my speech is slurred and my voice is hoarse, i gotta do what i gotta do:) no breathing problems so far. but i have to say that my AChR levels were almost 10 times the normal value, but my SFEMG was good.

Yes l also have the slurred speech and hoarse often it's like my tongue won't move quick enough. I also will have the back of my throat fall and it feels/sounds like I'm snoring in the middle of the day. ;) such fun symptoms. They looked at me weird at docs office likes it's not related but what are odds it's not it always happens with all other symptoms when I get bad.
