If you try that and it helps, you need to contact your doctor and get the prescription increased as well as let the doctor know the current prescription is not working and you need more. The doctor needs to know this to keep on top of your MG -- in most of us it progresses and we have to go on something to treat the immune system rather than mestinon
Although exercise is helpful, we can tire very quickly. Relax, sit and watch some TV and let your body recover. The time when we head to the ER is when our breathing gets difficult.
Good Luck Russ
Be very careful taking too much mestinon. The side effects of the medicine are the symptoms of the disease. So you could take too much, and think the MG is worse, when really it's just the medicine. I would talk to your doctor before taking double your dose. Sometines, if my mestinon needed increased, I would cut the pills into halves or quareters.
Rest is your best friend now. Best wishes. Barbel
I just started the IVIG therapy 2 weeks ago. I went for 2 days and next month they will come to my home to give me the IV. I take the mestinon 60 mg every 4 hours when awake and 180 mg at bedtime. He recently added Imuran. The side effects on the website do not sound pleasant. It is to get me off of the steroids eventually.
Has anyone been on Imuran and had problems?
That would mean 1.25 hrs after you take the mestinon you would have full benefit for a couple of hours. (approx)
I have been over doing good it and this week I had to stay on the couch 2-3 days to recover.
Recovery isn't easy many times.
