Like a lot of others I sort of thought I was getting progressively crazier over the last 5 years. I started off tired. Went to a doc. She said eat right and exercise. Did that and did NOT get the "gee I feel great". Just got tired. Constantly going back and forth with Anemia. Got diagnosed with spinal osteo-arthritis. This went on for about a year. Got diagnosed with Asthma and allergies despite my argument that I was a former Active Duty Marine and current Navy reservist. Got recalled to Active Duty with the Navy for a year in Iraq. Now I was constantly exhausted. When I came back I thought some rest and relaxation would change things. Little by little it felt like I was getting worse not better.Started getting clumsier constantly bumping and getting cuts and bruises. (Has the shower threshold always been there?! and what about that door frame?) Went to my GYN and got a procedure to stop me from having a period to get some energy back and stop the Anemia. Still exhausted and still back and forth with the Anemia! Following up with my rheumetologist I got diagnosed rheumetoid arthritis in my hands. (Happy 40th birthday!) Started taking Plaquinil and noticed that along with being chronically exhausted even a moderate amount of physical activity makes my hands shake like some kind of addict. Not to mention my allergies are playing havoc with my voice almost daily. So it was back to the rheumetologist and "what's with Arthritis and the tremors?". She started questioning me. My exhaustion (which I had mentioned at every appt), my tremors, my voice, my clumsiness and then she said she wanted me to see a neurologist because she thought it was possible I had Myasthenia Gravis. "Mya... Gra... what?" "What is that? Some kind of virus or something?" I started researching and a lot of it fit but no ocular issues and no complete lass of muscle ability. It was going to be 3 months before I could see the neurologist she recommended I was supposed to go to Germany in between. So I got an appt with another neuro. in between. This guy seemed to almost make his opinion right away. His physical exam was like he was looking at an 80 yo woman! His diagnosis was to that I was getting older, possibly menopausal, and therefore weaker and that me not sleeping well and anemia were why I was "tired". I argued that I was not "tired" I was exhausted, the Anemia comes and goes and by the way buddy 40 is not old! Quack! Well didn't go to Germany (military funding). Actually a stroke of luck because I wasn't sure I could keep up with the activity level. Finally got in with a neuro. who works with the MGFA. He did a really thorough physical and EMG and said it was definately MG. He started me on Mestinon 3 times a day. 1/4 pill once a day, then twice a day working up to 1/2 pill 3 times a day. Today I had my first 1/2 pill. I feel pretty good. I would like to jump to the 1/2 pill 3 times a day right now. (I won't.) I go in a few minutes for my CT to check for a Thymoma.

Now that I have rambled on about my history... Now what?! I am happy that I am not crazy. (Which I was really starting to believe because after all no one else I know feels like this.) When do I feel better? Will it get better or worse? I have been strong and active my whole life. Now... now I curse every packaged product in the world. Why does everything have to be so darn hard to get into? I'm happy, I'm sad or is it scared? I don't know anymore.

Now what?
