I remember my first dose of mestinon. I was scared to death to take it!!! Never heard of Myasthenia Gravis or mestinon. I absolutely could not eat solid food or talk. Mestinon worked a little magic right away. It definitely helped me "get by" until other medications kicked in (prednisone). I have not had any bad reactions to it!!!
I definitely told my family, close friends and neighbors I have Myasthenia. It was obvious in the beginning something was wrong.
(I lost about 20 pounds quickly and some thought I had cancer) Now I am so close to being symptom free, they forget. I am glad they know. I hope it brings awareness and it makes me feel safe in case I ever do have a crisis, I can go to them for help!!
You found the right group!!! Feel free to ask a lot of questions. Fantastic people: knowledgeable and supportive!!
