Kimberly brought up a good question. Why do we drop things when it is not from weakness? and Ross answered it for me, we have neuropathy, too. For the two of us, dropping things preceded other more obvious manifestations of MG, or were present from the beginning. Kerry posted about his problems with lung function and the contribution that neuropathy makes.
So I have two questions: is this an unrecognized (by the medical profession) usual symptom of MG? As in do we all have some loss of sensation in our hands and feet that contribute to stumbling and dropping things?
The other question is, does this improve along with other improvement with treatment?
We know we can have other autoimmune illnesses, but it would be interesting to know if we all have some degree of sensory loss, and the extent of that needs to be reported to our physicians, not accepted as part of our weakness. Neurologists know how to examine for neuropathy, but unless there is a specific complaint, that exam tends to be cursory. My sensory loss was picked up on exam 35 years ago and missed every exam until my last.

Somehow I unsubscribed to this thread and missed about two pages of responses. I've noticed since the migration I don't get notified of a lot of things including messages. I hope it all gets sorted out soon.

I hate to be the one to break the news to you but... You should not use your foot to brak the fall of metal objects! Could be an extra doctor bill when you least expect it or a new pair of crutches to drop! Be caeful! :o)

I found a melamine mixing bowl this weekend at my dad's house. It will come to live with me in the next few weeks. I wasn't up for the climb to get it out of it's long time resting place this weekend. I'm excited, a non-breakable, relatively light weight big bowl.
Have another question...................Those who drop hings, do you have another medical condition that could be connected to neuropathy? I was born severely anemic and had to get transfusions constantly. Then they discovered i am a celic . This caused many medical problems as it was diagnosed after much damage was done. Neuropathy cold be one of them. Altho I did not have neuropathy until I had MG., I think.
