It took about 6 months for my ocular MG to start turning to General MG . I was coaching Table Tennis and the Mestinon was working pretty well for my double vision when I started noticing my legs were getting tired faster. When I first brought it up to my Doctor she didn't do anything but told me to increase my use of mestinon. It didn't seem to help so I was put on 40 mg prednisone every other day. It got worse at first then over time got better. I am now taking 20 mg prednisone every other day and 175 mg of Imuran every night and in the mornings with breakfast I take mestinon. I do pretty well and can go and play a little table tennis 2 or 3 times a week. I can't play the level I used to but still enjoy it. I have trouble tracking the ball to my wide forehand side because of weakness in my eye muscles. Over all though I am pretty happy with things. You will have to take care when you are around a lot of people because you will be susceptible to catch colds and things (I am dealing with a bad cold right now that I know I caught at the table tennis club).
Usually I can tell pretty soon after I get up what kind of day it will be. If my muscles feel "taut then I know it will be a good day. If they feel like flabby then usually not so good. Sometimes you just need to get more rest so do it. I have found getting outdoors helps a lot. I do live in the country so have a garden and green house. I do what I can but if they get out of hand I don't worry about it. You will learn what you can and can't do and if you have people to help you don't be afraid to ask.
I could go on as I like to talk but I hope my experiences help you.
