That being said, cognitive impairment can have a different cause. Just because someone has mg doesn't rule out other health issues. My advice to you is to keep an eye on your cognitive problems and have yourself tested if you or your loved ones have legitimate concerns. When my cognitive issues became severe about ten years ago (I was losing the ability to express myself verbally, especially with verbs and nouns), I had to travel to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore in order to undergo quantitative cognitive testing. I was diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment which can indicate early Alzheimer's. The John's Hopkins neurologist found me someone here in Pittsburgh who could teach me how to rewire my brain. It was a scary time and one of the most difficult things I have ever done. I am happy to report that my cognition is mostly fine now, except on bad mg days.
