Six weeks ago our friend Elinor A Scott-Sutter died from cancer. She recorded her struggle with MG on dailystrength.org and we all watched her try to get diagnosis, treatment and continue with her active life. She wrote so movingly in her journal and in her posts we all felt a part of her struggle too.

Last January, she found out that she had cancer and postulated that her MG was probably a result of her immune system reacting to the cancer. Then she described her fight with cancer up to the end.

I started this group about the same time as Elinor. I was always moved by her ability to describe her life in a way we felt part of it and miss her presence greatly.

You can see what she was like by looking at her early posts by doing what is called a google site search on dailystrength.

In her very first post, she introduces herself as a runner with MG symptoms. I had recently joined Daily Strength having been diagnosed with MG a few months earlier. She begins the pattern of responding to others posts and thanking the commenters for their help. Always gracious!

I hope Elinor's family collects her journal entries and publishes them. They are treasures!

A lesson from her life: MG is sometimes caused by cancer so for anyone with MG symptoms, a thorough cancer check is important--not just thymus, but overall.
