Predinsone is the other way in that it can take months for the results to show. Prednisone does work quickly in your body to slow down the immune system producing bad antibodies (in a week or so it can change the production). However, the antibodies already in your body can persist before disappearing, and since the antibodies can have damaged our muscle receptors, they have to grow back.
That said, your first time being treated where you started at 60 and took it is probably the fastest way to see prednisone effects. Lower doses may slow but now stop the immune system from producing bad antibodies.
I took prednisone for about 6 months gradually increasing the dose to 60 before it worked for me. During that time I took lots of mestinon (60 mg pills every 3 hours during the day ) to cope with MG problems. The mestinon helped some with the double vision, but did not get rid of it. Prednisone did.
Good Luck
