Here is some crazy talk I need help with. I have longstanding bulbar muscle weakness for years. An extreme respiratory weakness recently documented forced my neuro to finally consider a Mestinon trial. The trial worked immediately (but neuro says that doesn't mean I have mg!) however that is not my puzzlement.
My doctors get dazzled by my breast cancer and blame everything on that. Either that or the prednisone (20mg) I have been taking for 6 months. Some months ago my ribs, right in front of my heart but more central, popped out in a huge lump. Kind of like a prednisone hump but on the front. No one has figured out what it is other than ribs. Also, during my years of muscle weakness I also had longstanding back rib pain at this same level.
So here is the question and puzzle. The very minute I started taking the Mestinon the pain in my back left and I could stand up straight. Now, two days in the lump is getting smaller. Does anyone have any experience with anything like this?

Pyridostigmine sometimes is used to treat orthostatic hypotension.
It may also be of benefit in chronic axonal polyneuropathy.
It is also being prescribed 'off-label' for the postural tachycardia syndrome as well as complications resulting from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
