Good news Wednesday time again!

I finally remembered to start this on a Wednesday :). Today I had to date stamp 170 10-13 page papers for work. I do the early ones when they arrive as my arm gets tired doing them all at the end of the day. I did much better than the last time I tried this - Mestinon really does help with this kind of repetitive fatigue.

And, who knew, two twenty-something graduate students think it is fun to stamp and sort the papers they will have to mark. So they finished off the last bunch and stayed behind for the latecomers. And our annual Celiac holiday dinner is tonight so I don't have to cook! Yay, Wednesday.

I am mending well after my recent surgery. MG hadn't raised it's ugly head until today, but I have an IVIG scheduled for December 20 and one approved once a month for a year. IVIG to me was liquid gold (Bamboolilly) !!! I wish I had not waited so long to have one /ask for one. Happy good news Wednesday!

My wife, Margo had back surgery Tuesday. She had been barely able to walk because of pain since June (tried pain killers, other therapies, steroid shots with no improvement). Doctor though it would need to be a complicated fusion, but when he got inside, said things were much better than expected and he was able to do a decompression--much simpler and much quicker recovery time.

This morning, 12 hours after getting out of surgery, she was pain free, able to walk comfortably -- using a walker just in case--and instead of weeks in a rehab center as planned, will be home tomorrow. She was quite amazed as was I. All she needed was a couple tylenol for the surgical pain.

Can't say enough about Mayo Clinic Rochester MN. Her surgeon only does backs and does them well! He was funny too -- when he talked to her about her upcoming surgery, he found out she grew up on a farm. He compared her back to an old barn that the rafters were sagging and some of the starting to rot out.

I remain in complete drug-free remission from MG since April of 2013 -- 20 months. No idea how long it will continue, but after 2012 going into a breathing crisis and thinking there was no future, I too am amazed at the remission.
