Sorry to hear you are having so many problems. What are you taking for MG? Some of the medications have side effects that are different from MG itself.
Many of us have multiple autoimmune diseases simultaneously.
The aching all over suggests you see a rheumatologist too.

I have an appointment March 6 to see rheumatologist. I'm taking Mestonin and neurontin. Doctor ad me on prednisone since September but I now refuse to take it for weight gain and fear of diabetes. I just ache all over. My hands are really hurting. I think I do have an overlap too. Does MG was and wane? Seems the more I do of course the worse it gets. What are some of the overlap diseases?

Neurontin is one of the medications that makes my MG symptoms much worse. It made my dysphagia so bad that I almost died once from choking.

Neurontin did help the neuropathic pain in my arms and somehow stabilized my vision (although it remained double). When I went off Neurontin, my swallowing improved. Not perfect, but no longer dire.

I’ve had a few episodes of swallowing problems. Was eating a sandwich in my car and food got stuck. Had to pull over. Thought I was going to choke. My arms and hands have been my major complaint the last few days. Can’t hardly lift them and hard to grasp things. My body feels very stiff and sore like I’ve worked out. I have a small white lesion on the tip of my tongue that won’t go away. I’m also clumsy.

If you opt to go off the Neurontin, you might have to do it slowly, depending on how much you are taking.

How was your MG diagnosed?

If you are hypo or hyper thyroid, it will make your MG symptoms worse. Best tests to diagnose thyroid problems are TSH, free t3, free T4, ATA and TPO antibodies.

I had Hashimotos and had my thyroid removed 12 years ago but I suppose I still have the antibodies. I’m wondering how carpel tunnel just showed up at the time when I was dx with MG. Is it common to get carpel tunnel with MG? My hands are absolutely killing me. And it travels right up to my shoulders. I lose my balance quite a bit.

I also have Hashimoto's and take replacement thyroid. For many years I was fine on generic Synthroid (t4). About 10 years ago, my free T3 levels when tested were always below the normal range. Free t3 and t4 were in the normal range. I found an endocrinologist who was willing to try Armour or adding Cytomel (t3) to the Synthroid. I opted for the Armour and feel much better than when I just took Synthroid. An older friend of mine who had her thyroid removed (she doesn't have MG) says she also feels better on Armour. My experience is that if my thyroid hormones are not adequately replaced, my MG symptoms -- particularly fatigue and arm pain -- are worse. So it may be worthwhile to have your free t3, free T4, and TSH levels checked. Particularly if the rheumatologist doesn't find anything.

Does carpel tunnel creep it’s way in with MG.

I am so sorry you are having such a hard time. I've never had pain that caused me to take Neurontin, but from what I understand it can make your mysasthenia symptoms worse. I've always had to be my own advocate when it came to doctors. They don't always know what meds make things worse. I keep a list of what I can't take with a list of what I do take. Not sure which is longer. lol. Praying that the doctors can make your situation better.
