I had my dental work today, and although I didn't do the full "day at the beach," I am grateful for all the advice and experience shared. I took my morning medication with a couple of Tylenol and wore my wool socks and took my wool shawl, and quite glad I did. The air conditioning fan was still running although the night had been in the 60's (today is supposed to be around 90) and I am always cold when upset. We decided to use the nitrous and I put on my earphones and relaxation music, closed my eyes and opened my mouth and except for the noise of the drill which I was pretty much able to shut out and a couple of twinges, it was one of the easiest dental visits I have had lately which have all just been teeth cleaning. Didn't even leave fingerprints on my hands, much less claw marks on the arms of the chair. Having a nice cup of tea now, no numb mouth or proscriptions against eating or drinking and just a little wrung out from the anticipation and worry that always accompanies procedures.

Again thanks so much for all the tips and warnings. Ange there was a little decay around where the filling was cracked, but nothing of consequence and glad we didn't wait. The dentist thanked me for the information I had provided. He had used nitrous as adjunct, but this was the first procedure he had done with just with nitrous alone and was quite pleased at how well it had gone. I was clear headed by the time it was over (as clear headed as I usually am, I mean). Again thanks so much for your responses and so glad I can issue a favorable report. b.
