Im currently on 40mg prednisone and mestinon, my neuro wants to start giving me 50mg of cytoxan a day, anyone getting the same treatment? i want to know what to expect.

Thank you, that means a lot. It was hard but I've done it for my family. Just a proof that life goes on for us MG patients, we should learn to live with it. Now im looking for a job. Hoping for the best

Johns Hopkins uses HIGH DOSE Cytoxan to reboot the immune system. Cytoxan kills the bone marrow cells--except for your own stem cells. The theory is that one's stem cells will reboot a correct immune system. Treatment and time frame is similar to a bone marrow transplant. This seems to be almost a last-chance treatment for some people.

I think other are using LOW Dose Cytoxan to help suppress immune system in a less aggressive manner.

Hi Cytoxan is a cyclophosphamide. I receive a once a month IV of ENDOXAN (Another generic of cylcophosphamide). A short description from Wiki is as follows:- Quote "The main use of cyclophosphamide is together with other chemotherapy agents in the treatment of lymphomas, some forms of leukemia[3] and some solid tumors.[4] It is a chemotherapy drug that works by slowing or stopping cell growth. Cyclophosphamide IV dripCyclophosphamide also decreases the immune system's response to various diseases and conditions." Un-Quote
