Myasthenia Gravis Support Group
Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a neuromuscular disease leading to fluctuating muscle weakness and fatiguability. The hallmark of myasthenia gravis is muscle weakness that increases during periods of activity and improves after periods of rest. Although myasthenia gravis may affect any voluntary muscle, muscles that control eye and eyelid movement, facial expression, and...

I think hot showers also weaken many with MG. Some of the MG websites say "avoid extremes or heat or cold."
I like to find the physical reason behind what happens. I googled nerve conduction and extreme temperatures and found this statement:
"Lower temperature cause slower nerve conduction velocities (NCVs), and increased amplitudes of muscle and nerve potentials (Dorfman & Bosley, 1994). ... Decrease in temperature also increases the resistance to conduction of impulses which increase the latencies and decreases the conduction velocity."
That is a mixed statement and does seem to say that either cold or heat can affect us. That said, I prefer cold weather as we are having right now in NW Wisconsin at 0F. Probably the ideal place to live would be Hawaii!
Good luck

I live in Scotland, currently, around 35-40F at the moment, won't get a lot colder. I have recently returned from a US trip, Mid West Colorado down as far as Arizona when the temperature ranged from 60-85F. I seem OK with both albeit I generally prefer the cold to the heat. Equally at peace with altitude, it would seem. There again I guess I am in what we might call a stable state with my MG.

i have learned thru my years of mg, that heat as some weeken effects in the body ans ability of functioning,
for me the best temp is around 70 degrees on wich i am able to work outside garden ect, or take a long walk.
generaly speaking i am not a person to by some gadget except this time couple of years ago on which thru the net, was advertised a sun hat, to repell the heat from your head, also you could put it in the freezer, and work to perfection,
so i purchase one for my wife and one for me, very happy with the purchasse,
it did help grandly
also isince very young got a custume of showering with cold wather instead of worm or hot, (tap temp.)
it is very invegorating and facilitate your movements with out be afraid to cramp or others happening
in all you have to find your way around the laberinth that mg throw at us
best of luck
