I wondered about lack of patients until I read therapies excluded you from the study. It seemed like a long list to keep you from participating . Also how many usa docs follow up on looking for studies. We can only pray for qualifying patients willing to take the chance. I'm fascinated by the astronaut Kelly who just came back after almost 1 yr in space. Research the daily life up there -going to bathroom, eating ,no showers only bedbaths as some here have experienced. NO FRESH AIR OR SUNSHINE I'm claustrophobic just thinking about him and all the others willing to be the 1st! God bless and keep them safe. Have a good w/-e

There seems to be very slow progress on this as it has been discussed here in 2010 and the underlying theory published at least 20 years ago.

As the theory is that a peptide based vaccine strategy works with autoimmune diseases in general, not just MG, the excuse that funding for a rare disease is difficult to obtain seems questionable as the reason for delay, as the company could have tried it on a less rare autoimmune disease first where funding should have been readily available.

Phase 1 studies are for safety and side effects, not to see if the vaccine actually works. Phase 2 would do that.

Based on the mode of action, I can't see how 3 injections could ever effect a cure... But it may prove to be a more benign, and easier to live with therapy than those we have now... There are secondary endpoints in this phase including clinical efficacy, and immune response... First reports on trials scheduled for Sept. 16'. The AchR positive variant of MG is the lowest hanging fruit in the MG orchard, the first to be taken... God willing, all the rest will be too........
