Good luck to you.. Annette
After the test, my heart rate stayed above 120 for 2 hours so I called in and they said I had 1/2 hour for it to come down or go to the ER. It came down on its own. All the tests still came out 'normal' in that it was normal sinus tachycardia they kept finding over that month on the monitor and I kept showing 'body under stress' signs. Constant tachycardia at the slightest thing: raising my arms, washing my hair, walking one flight of stairs, standing up and it would pop and run.
They wanted to put me on a beta blocker or a calcium channel blocker, both are relatively contraindicated in MG, so NO! I ended up going back on mestinon which controlled it. (mestinon can have a side effect of bradycardia and control blood pressure in POTS). They still don't know why but it controlled the blood pressure spikes I was having too. And then I found out 8 months later, when I got off omeprazole that IT was causing both the tachycardia and the bp spikes. Now I have no heart or bp issues thankfully.
I hope that helps and everything turns out well for you....debra
Best to you.
