Ido find I am having more problems carrying my kids. I can lift them with difficulty to put them in their carseats, but I just can't carry my 2 yr old across a parking lot like I could before. This may sound awful and like bad parenting, but I use the help of my 3.5 yr old for a lot of things. I lift her out of her carseat, then walk with her over to my son's side ofthe car. I get him out of his carseat, put him on the ground next to her, and the three of us walk together. Often I'm carrying a bunch of things like a sherpa, and can't safely hold a hand on that side. I hold my son's hand on the opposite side and my daughter holds his hand. I wouldn't do this if she weren't reliable to stay with me and alert at all times.
Right now for assistive devices, I mainly use my cell phone for medication timers (4x/day) and my eye patch when I need it. When I'm slurry I let the machine pick up when someone calls, or just text. One of the things that is helping me a lot are headphones. I am having a lot of trouble with a high stress time (mostly marriage stuff), I just put on headphones and block out the sound around me. Pandora is free if you have internet access. I like "Classical Romance Radio" station.
