Myasthenia Gravis Support Group

I also found it challenging to find a physical therapist who understood MG. Finally I found a therapist that came to my house and we together worked out a plan. Which - if all conditions are good - I do two to three times a week and help a great deal - just have to pace myself and not push!
Have a great evening! Mary
It can be hard when just hanging the washing can be a real chore so if on a good day l can do 5 mins with even just 1kg weights l'm very pleased with my self.if over the course of the day l can do that 4 times woo hoo!.
l used to have my exercise bike in the living room and during my fave tv show l would sit on it and pedal my heart out during the ad breaks...l wasn't being too much a couch potato and l knew l only had at most 3 mins to go hard at it then l got a rest...hubby thought it hilarious .
l'm a great believer in when you can ,do what you can ...but when things are a bit iffy, don't risk it.
Like Mary452 said, usually, by the time I get ready and get somewhere, I am worn out and ready to go home. But I have been having some spurts of longer lasting energy since I had rituxan, so I am hoping to take advantage of that and gain some strength in my poor limp muscles.
Then pt made me worse.
They just don't really get it.
I have learned from my various types of rehab that I would too often try to push myself. It is the hardest thing to learn to keep it slow and not expect fast results. Very important to communicate with the therapist how MG effects you and how your sessions are going.
Listen to your body during and after you sessions. You will learn what is working or not working. My therapist and I both know my sessions vary depending how I am doing.

It would be nice to have someone come to the house, but I think part of my recovery is being able to get out and go somewhere again.
