Some docs don't get it, your right. Going to the ER is hard enough in itself. To encounter someone who is not informed enough to treat you in an emergency is very frightening.

I encounterd this once durring some breathing difficutly and it was horrible. Same thing, told I was just anxious and to breathe into a bag. He actually laughed at me and walked away. I Ended up being admitted the next day. It made a big impact on how I respond to my worsening symptoms now.

Im sorry you had such a horrible time. Glad you vent it out some here.

I endeed up getting a list of names of nueros who know MG for all the area hospitals from my nuero, just in case I am accross town or near by city and need ER attention. I haven't needed to use it but feel better knowing I can request they call someone in their hospital who my doc knows, know about MG.

I am so grateful my ER doc(neurologist) was good. He was sitting in the room with me in critical care and did exactly what was needed, Plasmapherisis, immediately. At least I believe that was the best treatment. I have a specialist at a large university hospital who said he would have done the same thing.
The guy who laughed, needs to have followup conversation with you, for the sake of others if ya know what I mean.
Unbelievable.
