Meanwhile diuretics, beta blockers have not controlled my bp. Cardiologist now taking out coreg bec of the omg flare and adding a calcium blocker. I am praying that works. My oncologist wants to try anti anxiety meds to address it that way. I agree with this approach BUT here's the real kick in the but, I'm a psychotherapist myself. I do have a colleague I talk to weekly and she's great. I'm just anxious (puns intended) to do anxiety meds bec I'm not sure how they'll make me feel. During chemo we tried Ativan once. It made me loopy and sleepy. Wouldn't mind but I'm a single mom with a toddler n can't afford to be that way. Reading this thread some ladies had great replies in that the anxiety meds should make u feel like YOU!
So friends I need advice on what approach, the bp meds or anxiety meds? The beta blockers don't treat anxiety but the body's sympathetic response to anxiety i.e. Adrenalin, etc and those helped my heart but didn't work on my bp. So not sure if anti-anx meds would or wouldn't.
Please share your advice and support. I'm sinking sad. Thanks
