I know many people with MS have trouble sleeping, and I know this issue has been discussed many times on here, but right now I'm too tired to scroll through hundreds of pages to find it. Sleep has been very elusive for me for the past couple of weeks, since I stopped taking trazodone. I'm sure there many tips and ideas on how to get a good nights sleep, but I've tried all I know.........cool room, white noise, sleep mask, tylenol pm......nothing has worked. Perhaps we can share some ideas here that will benefit a lot of us.

I am unable to nap any longer, which is a huge pain. Since I am anemic I am always tired. I used to nap for at least 3 hours a day before I had MS (or before it was apparent that I had MS). Try counting backwards until you get sleepy. It helps clear your mind of other persistent thoughts. Also, if I have one glass of wine, it makes me ready for bed.

You're body may have become dependent on the drug in order to sleep so now you have to kind of wait it out and retrain your body to sleep without aids.

Hi, Once the sleep doctor found I had apnea. She put me on gabapentin 600mg. My neurologist then added clonazepam for RLS. Taking those two I am a sleep within 30 minutes. They have been a god send. Hope this helps.
