when I brush my teeth

when I brush my teeth my tongue and my face have been going numb! Only for about a half hour but it is very disconcerting. . . anyone else?

only once and it was off and on for a couple of days there was no connection to brushing for me

I've been trying for 10 years now to figure out what causes mine. I don't necessarily get when i brush my teeth or tongue, but it has happened. I'm pretty sure that I have narrowed the causes down to any kind of excitement, whether suddenly scared or after laughing alot. I was told for years that it was all anxiety related until they found lesions on my brain MRI and then said possibly caused by MS or demyelination...still waiting for a proper DX...
If you find out anything helpful, please let me know! Mine lasts for about the same amount of time, maybe less most times, but I lose complete control of forming words or closing mouth and feel like I'm going to swallow tongue because I can't feel tongue or throat. I drool and become very weak in my limbs. It's quite scary and each time i'm hit with the feeling of "This is the big one!" but it never is...LOL

Sherrie I have to ask you something because I used to say that, then I figured out I brush my teeth and then shower and it was the hot water I think making my face numb!
