Diet can effect a lot of things, its strange how things we eat can affect symptoms. Its like using the Ketogenic diet for controlling epilepsy symptoms, it doesn't work for all with the condition but for those it works for it improves their lives a lot.
Our bodies are just too complicated sometimes lol. Hope your not in too much pain now ((hugs))
I use cauliflower rice instead of regular rice. I pulse it up in the food processor and steam it. I make sauces out of jasmine rice flour which I grind up in my coffee grinder. I sautee zucchini and onion and add my rice flour to it and pour the whole thing over some cauliflower rice. Tastes pretty good to me. Of course, you have to like cauliflower. But there are plenty of ways to get around the carbs. I eat lots of spinach and generally have two veggies and a salad at dinner time.
Also, carbs make us crave more carbs. Works the same as sugar. It's best to cut them both out of the diet although it seems near impossible at this time of year. :)
There are plenty of helps out there and if you need any more advice on good things to eat, just let me know. :) I'm always happy to share what I've learned.
So, don't think any of this is in your head. It's a real fact for MS'ers that we don't mix well with carbs, sugar and gluten. :)
Lorrie is right about eliminating sugar, carbs and gluten. I made a gluten free pie with organic apples but it did have sugar. So it is possible to find gluten free pie crusts at the farmer's market. The hard part is without the sugar. But the pie came out so good. The sugar was organic but still sugar. This is the holidays and it will be the only time I make a pie for many, many more moons.
