I've had this happen twice in the last week, when I was thinking one thing and something else completely came out of my mouth. Especially, when talking to myself (which I do quite a bit) I was looking at my hair in the mirror and made a comment about my hair which came out something like this, "Hmm, I should dye my car." I meant, "I should dye my hair!" I wish I could think of the other example, but it was something equally weird. What the heck? I know that's gotta be something mis-firing in the ol' synapses...but that could really get goofy...Anyone? anything similar?

You guys are HILARIOUS! I was just sharing with someone that this MS is a trip! You gotta laugh at it....really! It helps knowing I'm not the only one speaking jibberish.

I never connected my inability to name the right appliance with MS. I invariably say microwave when I mean refrigerator, etc. with the stove and dishwasher. I hear it come out wrong and sometimes have to force my lips to form the right word afterwards.

Do you think mixing up the names of all the men in my family is MS or a mom thing?

haha you don't even have to be a mom! i'm so bad at that with teaching! if i mix up 2 kids' names, i'm done for. those kilds will forever be called the wrong name!

I once wanted to tell my husband while he was driving--watch your judgement, there are people in the street--but it came out--watch out for the judgement people!

Also the same with me,it can be so embarrising, I try and concerntrate and talk slow,but does not always work,I hate answering the phone at work. before dx rarely made sence to anyone else, but I do laugh at myself.

I know, I told my boss if I say something completely outta the blue that makes zero sense, I'm probably having a "moment" :o) BTW- Moms I quick cure I learned for calling the kids is... "Hey, "Whatchername"...come here" :o) (I learned that one from my Grandmother...worked everytime...somehow, the right kid always showed up!)

i am not entirely certain i have ms (no diagnosis yet), but i have been having rather bad problems with that for some time now. yesterday while asking someone for their id (while i was cashiering), i asked for their shirt; then right after asking for the signature i asked for their id.

i have lots of other examples and short term memory issues and such.. i think my brain is broken too! :)

Ok...I'm totally blushing. My husband just called. He wanted to know if I needed anything from the store. I told him, "I need some..you know, those things. I need some." He said, "What things?" I said, "You know, those white things, those white THINGS!" He got really mad and said. "WHAT THINGS JEN?" I finally yelled. "Lady plugs!" He just started cracking up and asked me if I meant tampons.

Yes Peter, that's exactly what I meant.

It made me uncomfortable buying tampons for my ex, and I'm also uncomfortable hearing that your poor husband was forced to do it too.
Maybe he doesn't care about carrying tampons thru the store. Perhaps some guys feel good about it, showing that they have a woman at home.
Me, I felt funny about it. You gotta do, what you gotta do.
Heck, I'm a prude. I don't even like buying condoms (TMI).

Oh Duke...

It's only in the last year that he's started doing it. I sent him to the store for supplies once and he came home with paper towels and cotton balls. He didn't understand why those wouldn't work just as well.

Okay, that's enough on that subject. (Clearing my throat) As we were saying---

Seriously--no one can match what I said once in one of my English classes when I was teaching A Tale of Two Cities.

I said, "Okay, get out your "Tale of Two TItties."

Luckily most of them were not paying attention!

My husband corrects me all the time. It's really made me think before I speak. Thank goodness I haven't said anything like Feisty!
