Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

It is held onto my foot by a Velcro strip at the top. The top is just below my knee. Cause they are cute and covered up my bruises, I have worn knee-high and higher socks since I was 5 or 6. Now I kinda need them to not have the plasticy thing stick to me when I am trying to wear it!
I can wear it MOST of the time with a few flat boots that I can use in the winter time if the thing fits in. I need orthopedic sneakers to wear it other times, those silly looking sneakers were part of the RX because the foot bed is much wider than my regular foot is with the plastic/ resin that its made from.
The place I got it from let me choose a nice/ neat enough pattern that I choose myself; instead of having to be stuck with the clear, grey or black generic pattern. Mine is light blue with multi colored stars on it. I have of course markered up the white Velcro part with stars and things. There may just be a few Hello Kitty stickers on my brace too.
If you need to have one of these best of luck
I take magnesium for my leg issues, cramping/spasticity. It's the miracle cure for so many things. Dr. Carolyn Dean, Dr. Mark Hyman, Russell Blaylock all recommend magnesium. (citrate or citrate/malate types and start off gradually. I normally take 800 mg per day. 400 between breakfast and lunch and 400 at bedtime.)
The physical therapy for drop foot basically consisted of concentrating on how we're walking, sort of like learning to walk again, purposefully. My therapist had me take his arm and he had me repeat with each step, "heel to toe." Said to imagine I was royalty and stepping purposefully. It has kept me from hurrying and tripping myself up with that drop foot. The left one is the culprit. You can tell by the toes of my shoes - they have little tread marks on them. For the most part, I walk better. Still have to conentrate and certainly can't look up while walking or carry on an involved conversation or I'll trip for sure.
Hope this helps. :)

Mine did not have a bendable ankle so I found I limped while using it.
but it did stop the dragging foot so I did not stumble
