Ah, the "weather woes". Just navigating the ups and downs of what the weather doles out from day to day and trying to keep my optimism. At 5:41am, with 95% humidity and 61°F, it takes several tries just to stand — never quite sure if it’s a safe idea. The barometric pressure is just above 30, so that's a plus. Still, I'm thinking it may be time to order a new set of batteries for my "jazzy select" motorized wheelchair. It may be a bit beat up, but it’s still a reliable backup on those mornings when the air feels like mud. My usual assistive device is the rollater but I'm still determined to get back to using a cane and eventually to walk without a device.
There is hope on the horizon though. I've ordered a small dehumidifier which should arrive Friday. Rather than crank the a/c down and the electric up, a dehumidifier will take the moisture out of the air with a much lower burden on the electric bill. I don't think it will help with the barometric pressure but the humidity is a huge issue for me and I'm looking forward to some relief!
Mobility first thing in the morning is rough but after the humidity burns off and the day gets warmer, the heat becomes problematic. At 7:19am, the humidity has lowered by 4%, to 91% and the temp is 62°F. Already, I'm beginning to feel a smidge lighter on my feet. Every little bit helps.
So today, I’m choosing a little vorfreude — anticipating the joyful relief of drier air, steadier steps, and the small victories that add up.
Does anyone visit this group lately? I'd love to hear if others have weather challenges and how they handle them.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

So voc rehab finally got in touch with me...it took like six months finally. The voc rehab person that they assigned to me is a lawyer and extremely knowledgable on disability law and he seems to know a great deal about how to get people placed in jobs and how to make their resumes pass ATS. I was really surprised at how articulate and energetic he is. I guess my question is how much I...

I have cerebral palsy (I am mobile, and the cp is mild) It's still a pain getting around sometimes, especially uneven surfaces.
CP and MS are very similar.
It can be very challenging, For me it's cold weather I can feel my joins stiffen, but, I'm better in warm temperatures.
I have heard of med's on tv that treat MS, A soothing cream is definitely worth looking into, Menthol might be good, cause I know lidocaine works injuries, I was in the hospital like a month ago for a fall, and that's what the game me too reax the injured muscle, I'm sure they have something similar for MS
After "overdoing it" Tuesday, I tried to get back to my chair (Jazzy Select 6) and because my energy ran out before getting to it, my legs folded, taking me to the floor. It was three hours before my boyfriend was able to be reached and get here. Meanwhile, I scooted around, using my behind, legs, hands, and everything is very sore, as is my left rib cage. My doctor was to order some x-rays for me. I'll follow-up on that tomorrow.
Yes, DS used to be better frequented before everyone went over to FB. I'm rather tired of the algorithms running the show toward advertisers, as does Nextdoor.
There are so many injections or what they call "disease modifying therapies". I have tried some in the past and don't feel them worth the risk. I do have a cream containing menthol and helpful things for neurological pain or relief. Thankfully, I don't have pain. Just need some cooling.
Oh, unfortunately, the dehumidifier didn't work. It's going back in its box and back to Amazon. It was disappointing. Trying to check its water reservoir on Tuesday used up my last bit of energy for my fall. Back to the drawing board, as they say.
I hope you've had a decent week or better.
