I have had those twitches too. happens when I'm worn out the most. they drive me crazy!

I experience tremors of all kinds, only when I'm in a flare which is now, so I understand how you feel. I think you described your symptom good, and I would take that to the doctor with you next trip. It is difficlut to deal with tremors, because you drop things, or your body jerks like a convulsion. The only thing we can do is live through it, but do report it to the doctor. I hope you are not in a flare now.

I started having a flare yesterday. Not sure what brought it on. It kind of kills the whole migraine theory the doc gave me. Since she suggested that I might be suffering from migraines I have had problems swallowing. I dont think that is a migraine issue. I started having tingly right leg and foot yesterday and then the foot drop started. My crazy twitching started too. Balance left me early. If I had paid attention I would have realized that my balance left me way before I noticed. I played Wii with my kids and we play balance games. I had none to speak of the night before all of this. I kept falling off the balance board.

It's me SharonMom. Have you been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis yet? It sounds like the twitching is a symptom of M.S. I have been dxed since 8-09, and for the last couple of years I have had twitching in my right leg, which is my weak one. In fact, before I was diagnosed with M.S., my husband and I thought that I had Parkinson's diease. I take baclofen to help deal with this, but it still happens off and on. It's just another part of having Multiple Sclerosis! Oh well!

Still no dx. Neuros are telling me it could be migraines. they are treating me for migraines right now. I am going to get another appt and bring them my list of new symptoms, i.e. swallowing problems. MS hug is another new one for me. Thanks Sharonmom. I haven't read too much about the twitching so I wondered what it was from. My docs have ruled out parkinson's. That was my initial thought when I started having symptoms. I have a lot of Parkinson's in my family....so that was a concern I had. Nobody in the family has MS, so this is new territory for me.

I also get twitches, in my legs, mostly as I am TRYING to fall asleep at night. Not sure yet if they are linked to nights I have to give myself Betaseron, since I am so new at it. Will have to look at that closer. Thanks for posting. I thought it was just me aging.

NO! It is not just you, I get terribly leg twitches and TOTALLY when I am trying to sleep. It is terrible. I am taking Gabapentene to try and curb it, but it doesn't work very fast. I think I will only stay on it for a few more months and if it doesnt start helping with that, I am going to ask for a switch. I NEED to sleep. For GOD SAKE, let me sleep!!! I get woken up thinking my fiance is shaking me awake for some reason and then when I do wake up, I realize it's ME shaking ME awake... and then I have woken up my honey, too.
Any med suggestions other then Gaba???

I take gabapentin but they now added baclofen at bedtime and it helps me sleep...I was having similar issues.

I twitch bad, especially my legs and sometimes my hands at night. My legs almost kick they twitch so bad sometimes.

My Neuro claims that I have Restless Leg Syndrome as a result of my MS, and that's what he claims causes the twitching. I'm not sure..

I've tried several different combo's of drugs for it..
Klonopin, Valium, Zanaflex, Baclofen..
the best by far is my "new miracle drug"
Mirapex .. I didn't know what it felt like to sleep so twitch free.. it feels so nice.

I twitch all of the time, especially when trying to sleep. Will ask my doc for something new. I am on gabapentin as well!

Yep, I twitch too. I also get the same whole body twitch just like you described. I think you said it perfectly. I think it may be one of the various kinds of tremor, honestly I don't know which kind. I have a prescription for Gabapentin but I gave up on using it, it didn't help like I was hoping. I pretty much just deal with them even though it's a rather annoying symptom.

A muscle of some sort right on the front of my shoulder has been 'twitching' all daaay today!
You can see it from under my shirt and it's been driving me nuts!

My back muscle rolls or twitches drives me crazy. Before that I had the weirdest feeling like my jacket was hanging on me and kept touching me but I looked and I had it all the way on. I check three times as I couldn't figure what was going on. That side must have been twitching.

I thought I was having cramps under my ribcage but it comes and goes and runs into the back as burning, squeezing pain. It possible it's MS hug. I have more days of it then rest from it. It makes me cry. These are new and/or getting worse to me.

I got this the end of last year "in my torso" & my legs went numb from my wast down straight to the floor & my legs would buckle when I tried to stand for more than 5 seconds...

It sent me to the ER & long story short ( I had been revolving doctors for years) but this is what got me to finally find my current amazing Neuro.

The ER didn't even notice (or care) about the fact that I was tremoring in my torso & falling over, they just did a lower spine MRI...because they said I told them my back hurt...idiots.

My current Neuro was pissed about that one. Then the ER said I had a bladder infection & sciatica & sent me on my way.

My Neuro. was pissed further because he said that there is NO WAY you can be diagnosed with sciatica without any nerve MRI's & the ER never did any.

3 days later when I went to my follow up appt. the doctor said..."how come the ER never said this was a severe kidney infection? We need to give you a hi8gh dose of medication in office NOW & we need to up you medication prescription...

I took the medication prescribed...but a week later I was still numb from the waste down, still tremoring & trowning almost daily & still not being able to walk...

So I made another appt. with the doctor & they said that the kidney infection was clear, but I needed to see a Neurologist & that's how someone finally told me at least what kind of doctor I needed to see & now I'm with a great Neuro.

It's a LONG road for certain, but there IS a light at the end of the tunnel my friends.
