Trigeminal Neuralgia

Spent most of the day in the ER yesterday with pain on the right side of my head that was so bad I couldn't touch my hair.  I have been having dizziness and balance issues for a week.  They did a CT scan and said it was Trigeminal Neuralgia.  They did an IV steroid infusion and gave me Gabapentin and Fosamax to take.  Unfortunately it will come bad.  I had a 1 day spell of this last month and the same 1 day issue last year but this time it was never ending.  The meds were supposed to make me sleepy but I have the opposite reaction to them.  I didn't fet to sleep till after midnight and up by 4:30.  Oh well,  just another day.

I'm so sorry you had to go through this during the Christmas holiday! Your IV steroids probably are the culprit in your lack of sleep. I'm sorry you have so much pain. I can't even imagine. Gentle hugs back at you, Linda.♥

After 1 day I had to stop the pain pills because they affected my equilibrium so much. I can't afford to fall, being here alone. So far, the gabapentin isn't helping a whole lot. I was supposed to see a neuro in 1-2 days but can't get them to return my call till after the first of the year. It hurts just to have the wind blow my hair on that side of my head. From what I have read, this is supposed to affect your face, not your head. Oh well, I'm always different. LOL

    I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital.  I don't think that we will have her much longer.  She is very frail.  Now she needs help eating.  So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying.  I think crying releases toxins into my body.  I also worked up a sweat at the gym...
