Question for those dealing with Trigeminal Neuralgia, do any of you get ear pain with it? I've had several attacks but never with the pain shooting into my ear, extremely painful. Like it's not bad enough the jaw, teeth and gums hurt, now this. What do you guys use for pains? Any input would be great.

My main concern with MS has been pain. Because I had been having very strong nerve pain as well as it occurred very often my Neurologist prescribed me a 50mg Duragesic Pain Patch to be changed every 2 days. I have been eating Gluten-Free for about 3 months and my pain has disappeared. Because I am terrified of the pain returning my Neurologist changed my script for the Duragesic Pain Patch to 25mg & to be changed every 3 days. I am slowly being weaned off the patch because it is a narcotic. I can't say enough how eating Gluten-Free has helped my MS. There are no studies to confirm this type of pain relief, but it worked for me and I will never return to eating Gluten.

Gluten free diet works. I had terrible menstrual pains and heavy flows that went away within 30 days of being on diet. I will never never eat gluten. If you want to do one single thing- stop eating gluten. And then reduce or eliminate dairy.

Hi Tammy,
Yes I have had the pains you are talking about. You do need particular pain killers for it & need to see a pain specialist (or similar) who manage your medications & are able to give you tablets that meet with what you need. I know it is a different system & different pain killers but lyrica is one that helps & epilum is another, there are lots of others I am sure.
