I went to sleep last night feeling bad. Leg didn't want to move, numbness and cold spots over legs and arms. I also had double vision and felt spasms in throat didn't last long but scary.
I woke up this morning with severe pain running along right jaw line to ear. Touching ear causes severe pain, shocking, stabbing pain. I couldn't talk because it hurt. Right low cheek and neck swollen but no fever, some numbness. How can sleeping on a pillow cause pain to ear?
I have been treated for TMJ in 1992. I still wear splint at night. I do remember pain being bad but different. It is just one side of face being affected. I had problems before with applying pressure by phone that causes stabbing ear pains. I know it sounds weird and I didn't know how to tell my neurologist this. It has been having bouts for years. Each year it gets worse. I try not to talk long on phone or use speaker phone to avoid it.
I remember back in 1997 waking up with left side swollen and couldn't touch face as it triggered severe pain. I didn't know what it was. I assume it was TMJ back then.
Now, it is happening without talking on phone. Has anyone else had this? Thanks for help.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I have good friends who have horrible bouts of TN, but mine just seems to stick with the "needle in the ear" feeling, sometimes my teeth hurt, and I get that horrible MS headache. If it is impacting your daily life, I think that a call the the neuro for some meds is a good idea. There are rx's that can help! Get better! XOXOXO
After what the chiropractor did, it triggered all my symptoms and two years later I was disabled. Oh, I have occipital neuralgia from that too. It is a stabbing pain in your head like a knife. MS so far as left it alone. It still hurts. I can't wear my hair up long, or headsets, hair clips, no perms... I tried Tegeratol but I was allergic to it.
I can only deal with one neuralgia at a time, please.
Thank you for answering. I figured it was TN and when it gets bad enough I will get some meds for it.
