Anyone go to them? Or anyone in the Pittsburgh area. I know Cleveland has a great program and trying to find a good place closer and where I have someone i can stay with overnight, saving hotel costs.

Also taking advice from Cleveland clinic, Winston-Salem area. Anywhere near WV.

I need an MS doctor BAD. Would like to drive no further than 4 hours.

i DON'T LIKE DR SCTT. HE TOLD ME NO PAIN WITH MS,AND DIDMN'TG MAKE EYE CONTACT WITH ME THE WHOLE APPT. WHEN HE ANSWERED A QUESTION OR TALKED TO ME HE WAS LOOKING AT MY SISTER!.
I'M GHOING TO SEE AN ASSOCIATE OF DR HEYMAN SINCE I CAN'T TO SEE HIMM TIL NOV. THIS ALONE KIND OF TELLS ME HE'S A GOOD NEURO. I'M HOPING. I GUESS I SHOULD BE ABLE TO TELL BY HOW HIS ASSOC IS. I'LL KEEP YOU INFORMED. BY THE WAY I'M FROM PITTSBURGH PA DFR HEYMAN IS WITH UPMC NEUROLOGY DEPT

When MS was suspected 13 years ago I asked 3 separate General Practitioners to recommend neurologists practicing in Pittsburgh. All 3 came back to me with the same two names: Tom Scott out of Allegheny General Hospital; and Rock Heyman of UPMC. Apparently both are recognized nationally for their work with MS patients. I have no first-hand experience with Dr. Scott. I have been seen since 1996 by Rock Heyman (UPMC) and have been very happy with his attention to detail and his ability to explain to me treatment options.

Thanks for the input. With the bad luck with this last neuro, I am nervous about picking out one. Especially since it entails a 4 hour drive there.

If you decide on Cleveland Clinic being the way to go...

My MS doctor is Dr. Lael Stone MD. Her office number is (216) 444-0509. She is excellent and spends a lot of one on one time with you. The other MD that I know of who is also very good at the Mellen Center is Dr. Alex Rae-Grant MD. - his office number is 216-445-7132. Either one would be wonderful to get in to see for some answers.
