Thanks, sherryalton. We need to be strong about this. Blockages and reflux in veins coming out of our brains, do not necessarily need a neurologist to treat. Would it be easier and simpler to go to vascular surgeons and bypass the neuros, who are already bought by the drug companies? This would be a much less expensive way to deal with MS. If our MS societies decide to stay with the drug companies, we need to think of alternatives to get treatment.

Does anyone know how to sign up for the clinical trials in Buffalo or anywhere? I looked up the cost of getting the Liberation Treatment at Stanford, and it's ridiculous, $80,000. I'm amazed! I would think that since we are helping them with their study, it would be free. I spent $30,000 for Stem Cell Therapy in Costa Rica, and part of that was for the hotel.

From what I have read from posters here and elsewhere who have participated in the Buffalo study, it is ONLY a study of MS and non-MS subjects in regards to whether or not they have any stenosis. It is a blind study and the subjects are not even given the results of their tests. It is an important study but it will be a while before it will be a standard treatment for MS. I think we stand a better chance of just showing our doctors and doing what is necessary for them to authorize this ultrasound. For insurance to pay for it, it cannot be connected to tests run in connection with MS because this is not as yet a standard test in connection with MS. It would have to be authorized for other reasons like episodes of pain in the neck in the area of the jugulars with accompanying dizziness ; )

What about the Wayne St. trials?

I noted a lot of excitement about this study two weeks ago and then, nothing.

I was first diagnosed with MS on 11/13/09 and am 50. I'm seeing a MS Specialist on 12/18. What, if anything, do I say to him about this?

If this turns out to be true, the medical community has some explaining to do. With all the diagnostics done on MS patients, you'd think someone would have picked up on this before now. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. In my 35 years with this I haven't been too impressed with most doctors diagnostic abilities.
