This is a fairly new symptom for me also and I described it to the neuro much like you did... feeling like you forget to swallow.
I had a swallow study done, which showed I was not aspirating anything into my lungs (a good thing), but it did show a delay in my swallow response. My doctors have done nothing about this and since I'm not 'officially' diagnosed yet so they did not say what was causing it. :(
It is frustrating and a little scary. When mine gets bad I just stop eating. As soon as I get to the point in a meal where it happens (whether its 2 bites in or more) I just push my plate away. Probably not the best way to deal with it, but I'm afraid of choking.
((((hugs))))
