It's all very well to say 'avoid stress' but who has a life which is stress free?
I have done my utmost to avoid stress wherever possible, just by telling myself that worrying about something will make me feel worse. (and never solves the problem anyway!)
What you can do is to try to maintain as healthy a life as possible and to plan ahead wherever possible.
i've been making an effort to keep things in order, so if i have a bad day, nothing is really neglected if i need to rest for a day or two, it seems to make me feel mentally a little more prepared also if my symptoms were to get worse all of a sudden
I am not diagnosed its taken me a very long time to get to the point of giving in to starting the process of all the tests.... scares me so much.... my appointment to talk to a family doctor is the end of this month.
1. Sudden accute stresses, such as car accidents seem to have no impact on either the onset or progression of MS.
2. A large study found that the death of a person's child significantly increased his risk of developing MS.
3. Ongoing, chronic trauma or stress seems to increase the risk of MS relapses.
When I have been under stress, my MS symptoms flare.
" Oh you have hot tub? You should use it, it would so help with your muscle aches." Cooked myself into optic neuritis, and now am sooo heat intolerant.
Here is my example of how stresses immediate, cumulative, physical, physiological all came together to kick me in the teeth.
