I am the mother of a Son diagnosed and in treatment for this MS mess . He is self destructing giving up and doing the sickest nastiest things to drive his wife away to save her from Himself ???? They are each others first loves they have two infant son's and his spiral is trashing their lives as though all he has left to live for is crushing the life out of what once was so good and right and sound . Infidelity , self abusive , emotionally abusive , vile porn interest as if he has to crowd in everything and experience out there before it "MS' kills him ? We are all of us bible tote drop to our knees believers and we trust Jesus to get us through . And this share is to let even one other mother out there know She is not alone in this mental break down in her son . I live in another state and I only hear about bad reports from my daughter of his wife . he tells me what he wants me to believe . The white washed version oh he blames himself and admits to white washed version of his chaotic behaviors . This is not who He is This is who MS has created . thank you . venting and advise while appreciated won't get to him through me. I would appreciate prayers on the matter from anyone who loves Jesus though cause its all in His hands nothing we people can say or do will reach my Son where he has gone . thank you

My and probably all of our prayers are with you and your son and his family. His life is NOT over. He thinks it is but it isn't! Your daughter in law needs to have his minister come and speak with him. She needs to contact the MS Society and get literature for him to read. He can still live a long and healthy life.

Although there is no cure for MS, science is making some great strides. I have had MS for over 30 years. Things get a little rough but you get through it! Good luck and come to this site anytime to vent!

Thank you Marilyn they are in counsel with their pastor and he had this to say according to her :
julie****: We met with a pastor Wednesday from 4-9:30 PM!!!!! The pastor warned Rick that if he didn't come out and be honest he was going to self-destruct everything God gave him. Lose it all. And Rick lied to the pastor's face. The pastor told him he knew he was lying and that God will NOT be mocked. If you pretend to be getting right but you are not then its over for you.
julie****: After we left church rick texted and emailed the girl. Tried to get with her again. So he was not real AT ALL when we were in the house of the Lord

they are in support group and My sister has MS so She is available . Julie needs to contact his Doctor too .
But thank you very much it was more about me putting my words somewhere ~~~Only God can go there and meet my Son where he is at.

All of us here understand. Feel free to vent your feelings. We all have at one time or another. Hopefully we can help you gain some understanding of what he is going through. Each person is different, some are more disabled than others. What we all have needed is the desire to go on no matter how disabled we are.

We all know & understand, to some degree, what your son is going through. But it's those on 'the outside' that at times get hurt the most. A few years after my dx all I wanted to do was leave my husband and 2 young kids so they wouldn't have to grow-up or be in love with a less than perfect mom & wife. Through therapy I saw what I was doing to my spouse ahd my family. It will take time for ur son to see what he is doing. Lots of ((HUGS)) for ur family. Will be thinking & praying for ur family.

I think that it may be common for those of us to drive people away. It was for me. I did my share of driving people away from me. I dropped people as friends to avoid what they were saying about me. I got tired of rejection because of my disability and rejection by people. So I do the rejection instead. It may be a natural reaction.

My thoughts are with you. Please stick by him and encourage him to get help. Your daughter-in-law sounds like she is a great woman. Be supportive of her and I am glad that you came here to vent. Please continue to contribute. We need to know your input. There is another sub group for those who are relatives of people with MS, that was started by EPagain.

My heart goes out to you. Hope that things get better for you and for your son and daughter-in-law. He needs you. Don't let him drive everyone away.

In addition to physical issues, MS not only can have a substantial impact on mental state (Depression, Anxiety Ect). Two years before DX, I had been into the physiologist with problems with focus, attention and cognitive issues. Additionally, I am an analyst. I work with numbers, economic trends/patterns ect. so you can imagine the issues this caused with my work. Anyways MS can cause a range of issues with thinking patterns and ultimately self worth. It can be a very dark and scary place. I have found that routine therapy does help. Finding the RIGHT doctor for both physical or emotional issues is key with MS. I would suggest an actual psychiatrist with an actual clinical background. They are most likely to be able to make and treat the connection between the physical and the behavioral issues.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
