Yes! Sometimes my body does NOT want to leave the bed! But while still in bed, I stretch out my calves while holding my toes and hold it for about 10 seconds, and it helps a little bit. Also, I use wintergreen oil which takes some of the pain away (if you have pain with it).

Its best if I get out of bed slowly and take my time. Otherwise i feel very unstable like i'm going to fall. Its a weird/scarey feeling. :(

now see i get this all the time..but i thought it was just becuase i had smoked before going to bed..ah ha...perhaps not so then..hmmm.....unless everyone else smokes as well..grin..but im thinking not...grin...

are we talking cigarette smoking or marijuana smoking?? Iwish I could smoke marijuana, I hear it helps alot. I can't smoke it any longer, it gives me EXTREME anxiety. Had a bad experience with it.

yes I am stiff when I wake up in the morning or middle of the night. Its awful.
The wintergreen is a great idea. I will try that.
I just move slowly and perservere.

i wake up with varying degrees of this and always pain. it goes away sometimes in minutes sometimes in hours. neurontin really helps

Its not only when i get up in the middle of the night, anytime i wake up i'm wobbly as a slinky and bounce of the walls like a ping pong ball for a few minutes until my body decides its time to engage the balance senses.......

I feel this stiffness and sometimes shakiness when I get up in the night or the morning or even after sitting on the counch or in one place for a long time.

Actually, Lazy Julie has it right! The entire idea of changing position can be a problem! Going slow is the best way to deal with it, and stretching a little helps me. I also have found some pressure points in my knees and feet that help with pain and overall weird/strange shaky feelings.

It's funny, it just occurred to me on another post, that I feel horribly stiff after I try to ride my stationary bike. It only takes about 15 minutes of riding and I can barely walk afterwards.

oh my gosh yes! it is really uncomfortable, odd weak, stiff shaking waking you up. then trying to get comfortable again and wondering what the hell your body was just doing.

everymorning I wake up whith some type of stiffness and shaking. I also wake up almost every morning with hand nubness. It does all go away eventually.

when I scoop my cat litter boxes, and have to get down to that level, OMG...I hurt all over, can barely move, I dont have a lot of problems with my MS, so I have been wondering if this was due to the MS, just posted a topic a few days ago, on old, overweight, or MS? When I do housework, or anything like that, I get hot and weak also. It sucks!

mostly on my left side, that's where most of my issues are. when I'm cold, not warm or hot.
