Okay, has anyone ever gotten their right side and left side confused? Sometimes when I'm lying in bed, I lay on my side with one leg on the other. Before I realize it I think I'm moving my right leg and I am really moving my left. I feel backwards if that makes sense. This happens all the time. One night I tested myself, I told my left foot to move and my right hand moved! Is this something I should worry about? I think its kinda comical, but I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
Any responses would be great!

im not laughing... just gald that im not the only one....grin... it does not happen with me when im laying in bed but for some reason i cannot get my body to co-operate when i am trying to get into the left side of the car in the passanger side...(back seat).. i can get into the right side okay..but if i call a cab lets say and the driver opens the left hand side door in the back for me... try as i might my body will just not allow my legs to work to get in...rofl..lmao.. he usually gives me strange looks as i hobble around the other side and get in...
not quite the same thing you are experiencing...grin... but along the same lines....

YOU ARE DEFINATELY NOT ALONE IN THIS. *SIGH* BRAIN AND BODY ARE IN CONSTANT BATTLE AND THEY JUST CAN NEVER SEEM TO GET IT RIGHT AT THE SAME TIME.

My kids use my problem like a palor trick for their and their friends' entertainment. lol They'll point to a finger and tell me to move it and you never know what's going to happen. Sometimes and different finger on the same hand, and sometimes and finger on the other hand will move. To them this is endlessly hilarious. Doc says it's just stray wires finding each other at different times.

Whatever it is, usually its funny, until I remember it's one of the reasons I can no longer drive...oh well, less errands to run and lot of fun at get togethers...lol

I take my glasses off when they aren't on, just keep poking myself. i crosw my ankles can't tell which is which. I havr to use more than one sense toget an accurate picture...a little party in my head

me too, me too! ain't ms a trip?!?!?! ;)

i have a massive lesion the engulfs the left frontal cortex - the area of the brain that controls language. every time a new medical person looks at my mri, they always ask me whether i'm ambidextrous. seems that the only reason i can talk and write and use language, is because the right side of my brain took over the language "work".

so, sometimes, it would seem, that this confusion is a good thing...it can sometimes mean that a different part of the brain is taking over.
