I have been sick for a while. It started about a year ago. My magnesium started to go lower. I was unable to keep the magnesium down so they gave me IV magnesium. I started on 500 mg it went okay for a while about two months. Then for some unknown reason my magnesium dropped again. So they up the dose to 1 g. Then two months later they had to update again to 1.5 g. Then 2 to 3 months later they had to up it to 2 g. They started getting concerned why my body was losing magnesium. They are trying to get me an appointment with the intern's. Somehow the referral got lost. In the last month they had to increase the magnesium first to 2 1/2 g then he told me it dropped again. He said he was uncomfortable giving me 3 g all at once so I suggested a 1.5g twice a day. From the all over body spasms I think the magnesium has dropped yet again.we have discussed why I am losing the magnesium, I suggested medication he said not to the degree I'm losing it.

I have started to have asthma attacks. They started out of the blue two months ago. I have not had an asthma attack in over 20 years. I have had times where I would get wheezy, but not a full fledged asthma attack. They started me on Ventolin, when that was not helpful enough they started Flovent. Last night I had a very bad asthma attack my O2 sat was 91% that was taken 15 minutes after I took my Ventolin puffer. I talked to my doctor this morning he is ordering nebulizers both the Ventolin and the Flovent every four hours while awake, meaning 6 AM to midnight.

During all of this I had a bad kidney infection. When I have it my hemoglobin or red cell count dropped to 80, mine is normally 140. The doctor told me today it is in the 90s so it is slowly getting better.

I am tired beyond belief. I am told it is cumulative effect. The doc said low magnesium, low blood count, medication, MS fatigue, all cause tiredness. Explaining why I can only be awake for a couple hours at a time.it sucks being able to only stay awake for two hours at a time. I can force another hour b but I keep dozing off.

My husband has been a great supporter always but especially this past month. It is scary not knowing what is going on. Something is getting rid of the magnesium in my body. plus 3 g of IV magnesium on top of that. I think we're both scared not knowing what is going on.
