Short term memory

off to see my neuro as my short term memory is is getting really bad. Had been declining for a year or so but now I'm really struggling. Has ms affected your short term memory?

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions even though it seems you're sensing some sort of decline in memory. A lot of things could make us feel this way. What did the doctor say?

Mine has worsened and I do think it's ms related either by lesions and /or fatigue, chronic pain, meds and the draining psychological effect of dealing with this crap.

Mine is so much worse but my latest MRI shows no MS activity and they wouldn't even have known I have it if I wouldn't have had proof from previous reports. The MRI did show Chronic Micro Vessel Ischemia so I wonder if that's what is causing it. Hope you get some answers.

With someone who had MS for 25+ years, for me, my short term memory is shot! My husband gets tired of telling me things over and over again. I think it depends on where the lesions are in your brain!

Most of my lesions are in my frontal lobe, and my short term memory is horrible. You can tell me something, and I will almost instantly forget what you said. Its just awful.

short term memory and word recall are big challenges for me - I do attribute both to MS. I try to help myself by making lists and repeating things out loud (this helps.)

I ware a patch for memory loss it helps ware it daily. Have u heard of this patch?

I have not heard about any patch. Tell us more about that.

I have word retrieval problems mostly. Sometimes names or things I cannot recall. But later, the name will come to mind but it may take a while.

I was told years ago by my neurologist that this problem will level out and he was right. My problem is the same as it was over 10 years ago. So it doesn't necessarily get worse. But I definitely have to proofread my notes carefully because my typing is not as good as before.

    I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital.  I don't think that we will have her much longer.  She is very frail.  Now she needs help eating.  So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying.  I think crying releases toxins into my body.  I also worked up a sweat at the gym...
