I had a golden retriever who was a wonderful companion for me. He passed away when he was about 11 and it broke my heart to lose him. We finally just got another beautiful golden retriever puppy and my daughter is training him. They make great service dogs if trained properly. They are also very intelligent and easy to train. At least in our experience.

That's great..dogs make great companions n I want to volunteer at shelters that are pit bulls orientated..I was deathly afraid of pitbulls (I live in an urban city) where a large majority of pits are bred..fight and bite..my bf came home with lady n pleaded me not to b upset he got a pit/boxer dig.I always had small dogs but at the time I didn't have one...he previous owner had to move n could only take one of his dogs..the owner as ghetto as he is raised both dogs perfectly..she's the most obedient loving member of my family n wouldn't hurt a fly unless ur a squirrel. She's up to 50lbs or so n sleeps with me n my bf has two beds (1 by our bed for those nites I need room for my legs)..she's my body pillow those days where I'm stuck in bed n when I want to strengthen my legs a bit cuz of weakness n ataxia I walk her on a short leash n I let her pull just enough to help me walk...I wouldn't trade my dog for the world n I hope to spread the notion that pitbulls aren't bad..its how owners raise them!

I love dogs!

My pup is a Jack Russell so he's small, he is my constant companion. We do most everything together. When I've had an attack and needed help, he's literally barked very loudly until my neighbor.. who is family.. realized something was wrong and came over.(He isn't a barker) I never taught him to do that, he's just in tune with everything I do. I treat him like family so I understand what you mean about your dog!

They are the best! And.. it makes more sense when I talk to him then when I talk to myself LOL.

Word my previous dog was a Jack Russel mix n I loved him..I had to put him up at a shelter cuz he was too much had alot of psychiatric issues for a dog (I rescued him from the park) ...so I was devastated n was boohooing for a month or 2 before I got lady..when I lay down n I feel like shit she lays her head near my head n lays down with me..she follows me everywhere!!! If I gotta pee she sits in front of the door waiting for me..if I'm in the kitchen she sits n watches me cook...ashy I love my dog!..I talk to her like a human I be straight up talking as if she was my child...she is!

I spend every day at work in a family business with 200 Lbs of DOG!!! They are lovely.... As soon as I walk in in the morning... I feel good. I feel warm. Max is a German Sheppard (parents dog) and Guiness is my Brothers English Mastif. THey are by my side all day. Max nuzzles my legs when they are acting up... I know that they KNOW. I would have my own brood of pups if we lived in a more pet friendly house. I need a yard.

I also have an 18 year old cat who is totally in tune with what is going on with me... It DOES help. I need them
