Hello all,
I will keep this SHORT. According to my internist when I spoke with him about 7 months ago I had suffered a seizure. I did some research on seizure types and the one that sounds most like what I suffered is called "Complex Partial seizure" Basically you dont pass out but it does cause a loss of awareness. Folks who have these do things but don't remember what they have done. Supposedly they will not respond to anyone and they will usually stare or move in a repititive way.
Mine was like this: I apparently decided I wanted some bacon. I went to get it and put it on a plate with a paper towel. I then put the plate on the floor and proceeded to take off the bacon and the towel and place the bacon on the glass turney thing in the micro. I then picked up some socks from the floor and put them on top of the bacon and then put the towel on top of that. I shut the micro but never turned it on. I then went to the couch and picked up my phone and called my mom. When she answered I began to talk about stuff that was totally unrelated to either her or me. My husband who was sitting on the ccuch grabbed the phone from me and forced me to lay down on the couch and try to sleep. I vaguely remember a bit of that part. My kids saw me do the bacon thing and jokingly asked me what I was doing. They said I did not even look at them or answer them just continued on with trying to cook the bacon and the socks. I completely woke up from this about 10 minutes after laying down.
I have no idea what I was doing before this happened and later I have no memory of my husband helping me to bed and giving me my meds for the night. My doc seemed really freaked by it and I tried to play it off because it didnt sound like a seizure. He said they were all types of seizures and this is what prompted him to do a referral to the neuro. The neuro got this info today and his assistant said she would talk to the MS Specialist about seeing me as she was also going to tell him about the MS hug I experienced. According to her I described it exactly as it could be. This was before I had even known about a MS hug so FORTUNATELY guys there was ABSOLUTELY no way I could have made this up in my head!!! Yeah!!!! Maybe Maybe I am not too crazy!!
Well better vamanos. Gotta get in at least 3 hours of sleep before the drill seargeant (my mom) wakes me up at 6:30 to go up north to visit my aunt and cousin (they live by Dallas and its a 6 hour drive) No computers in her neck of the woods but I should be able to find a library so Please let me know if any of you have experience this or even know of someone or even read it somewhere. After all it might be my golden ticket to see the great MS Specialist. Thanks for all te love guys! I really appreciate it!!! Irish

Yeah- if u don't get a call back from ur doc, find a new one- sometimes u have to look forever to find one that gives a sh*t! Good luck & God bless!
I hope you are keeping a journal/diary of everything that is happening so that when you see a neurologist you can give him a copy so that he/she can read through & work with the most important issues first.
This could have been a seizure or it could have been different forms of sleep walking. To be tested for seizures is a complex thing anyway with a few different tests to have before they will give you medications for it even. If it is a one off it may have even be set off by something you ate/did etc but if it becomes more often then push for tests.
I have a different form of seizures & I have to fight the neurologists to put it on my records as they are reluctant to do so as it affects so many different things. The pain Dr's said it straight away as I had one in their office where I blanked out & just stared at them. Mine are the absent seizures & I know I am having them as know when I come to that have done things wrong etc.
Try to relax & not stress too much esp if it has only happened once.
