I took Ritalin for fatigue because my insurance company wouldn't pay for anything else. It was fine. I took it first once a day and then twice a day. After my flare went away, I quit taking it.

Now I know that I can only take it during a flare because I was exhausted one day after not sleeping well for a few nights. I didn't like the feeling I had after I took it.

But I did take it and it did what it was suppose to do. Best of luck finding something that works well for you.

I am not sure I want to take ironically my folic acid was low so Im taking a pill for that I am going to see if that will help me before i go that route,no interest in going montly to pick up script. LOL

I have taken ritalin, and it worked great for me. I only take it when my MS is acting up, and it does what it is supposed to do.

I prefer this to modafinil which made my chest tight.

I've tried Rit, Addy, and provigil. Ritalin makes me kinda spazoid on the comedown, so I'm on the Adderall. Provigil is the way to go for sure, but it isn't covered by my plan. About $700/mo vs. $100 or so for the Addy, wonder what they picked..hmm?? Provigil can make a lot of birth control pills ineffective, seriously, so check with your pharmacist or drugs.com/interactionchecker if that's an issue for you. Most importantly, if you have heart-related problems (ie. hypo- or hypertension) it is Very important to be monitored and cautious w/ Adderall. Adderall is literally amphetamines. GL!

Ritalin works pretty well for me, and my Dr. mails my script to me so I don't have to come in every month otherwise I probably wouldn't, want to have to go through that kind of trouble either. I never knew that ritalin had such tight restrictions that refills are not possible.

I take the ritalin for cognitive and severe fatigue, it has help me.

I took my first pill, not as tired at moment how long did it take for you all to see a difference?

I didnt get that far. I was on Amantadine for the fatigue. It worked well for the first go round so I stopped it because the fatigue subsided. Months later started to be tired again so I tried it for two months straight. No change in my fatigue, constantly tired, yawning every two minutes, etc.... So I called the Neuro to see about a switch to anything better (I had a regular appointment in 2 weeks, so I figured we could change med and review efficacy at appointment) No luck, needed to come in. No biggee! Better than being tired all the time. But was told there is big difference between MS fatigue and sleepiness!! I'm sorry but if you cant function, there is something wrong!!

I anybody has some advise please let me know.
