If you are still in the process of being diagnosed than this may be significant and you should inform your Neuro about it right away.

A relapse is defined as a worsening of symptoms or new symptoms lasting more than 24 hours, I usually say 3 days but that's my personal gauge.

hi yes i can remember thinking- after i found out more about ms- whats up- with like its a secret!! that still upsets me-but yes they come and go- sometimes for very long time- and some arent as lucky,but we repair ourselfs some if damage isnt bad,i have went blind-and it came back-same with all these other wierd things!

His receptionist called and said he would like to see me to check me out, but can't get me in until the 23rd. So really no answers:( Just call in if they get worse.

Well my neuro has put me on steroids (3-day long infusions) 3 times where this happened to me. The first time they seemed to have worked so we chalked that up as an exacerbation. The last two times, the steroids didnt do anything. In fact, I think the 2nd time I got worse! But I guess it's hard to really tell if you're having a flare up without looking at an MRI. I'm sort of new at this, only been dx for 2 years. However I think that once you have a flare up, it's pretty common that those symptoms stick around showing their ugly little faces now and then to make us wonder this very question.

How severe are the symptoms? Are they the same as when you had your last flare? If so, I would think you're ok and it's just showing up for awhile. If the symptoms are much much worse or altogether different and new, then my guess would be an exacerbation.

So with this last time I did the Solu Medrol roids, it ended up NOT being an exacerbation. MRI showed NO new active lesions and overall my scan was unchanged. Had I known, I wouldn't have accepted those roids as treatment since they're really not all that good for you the more you have them.

hi yes what lol crasy said! i have been doing this for a while-they still come and go- but if its very bad- like off balance--dizzy-it depends but i would get the steroids- it is bad for you but -so but maybe you fine too without them- ha sounds like im nuts!1 guess youd know- hugs!! tickey
