i scraped a round, deep spot on my knee and it seemed like it didn't want to heal. i put a post on here about whether or not anyone noticed wounds taking longer to heal since the MS. but no one responded.
have you noticed this taking longer than usual to even start getting better?
Had major foot surgery last year in Sept & it took 9 weeks to be released to home after rehab.
I since am still in pain so we are going back to the Dr tomorrow as there is blood through the wrapping. This has to be fixed pronto as we go on a cruise for 26 night.
Got to back & see the nurse & Dr at local clinic every day for at least a week. Wound could take 4 weeks to heal. Bugger as we go away in 6 weeks for our cruise.
Got to go as even though had lunch with chocolate covered jam donut -for sugar fix & cup of tea after & drink(cordial) with lunch, still shaking. It will stop soon hopefully.
Poor David hasn't had much nice in last week with
following ambulance to hospital, staying with me & looking after me at home with going to Dr etc. I am not happy at all & it hurts far too much. Sorry if I am not answering your comments but I do appreciate them.
Please pray, send positive thoughts or whatever your ways are as I am really at end of tether & that takes a lot for me. Really sucks for sure.
Went to see nurse today & wound may be oozing a little less but infection has spread further out on leg to the top of under side of knee joint, no wonder it hurts to bend. Now have nice pen marks around it.
Well at least know anti-biotics are going through the system as got the bowels moving well without any movicol or laxatives (often needed).
Go back tomorrow to be checked again & dressing changed.
Finally I went to a wound care clinic. After she put 20 shots in my leg to deaden it. She took the scab off, with my husband holding me down! She cleaned it and put medicinal honey on it. I have been back several times, and you won't believe how fast it has healed.
I also changed the dressing every two-three days following her procedure. Talk to your doctor about this! Good Luck!
Medicinal honey was used by Egyptians for hundreds of years. I am glad it helped you. Aus I hope you heal fast too. May you both enjoy your cruise.
Good wishes and big hugs,
EP
It is more like a long crater in the inner thigh above the knee & now what they call the "secondary wound". Hopefully it will heal better this way. I am getting district nurses every 2nd day (dread the bill) coming to the home. It is so much easier for sure.
I am still getting a lot of pain from it & it feels like burning but I am still shaky a lot.
It's got to get better for sure.
The other would be Carbamazepine (Tegretol). Two guesses. The description sounded like the first.
A restful cruise sounds like a break you could use!
