Random, coincedence?

Ok, this is really random. When I was a small child (5 or 6 maybe) I had a period of time where I would hallucinate music that wasn't really there. I always just assumed it was a weird/crazy kid thing. Anyway, read a story today about a woman who has been hallucinating music for 3 straight years and it reminded me of what happened when I was a kid.

Out of curiosity I decided to Google what could medically cause that to happen.

Lesion on the brain stem.

Not saying that's what caused it, because kids do = crazy but I find it quite the coincidence considering that's where all my current 30 year old possible MS related issues reside. Stupid brain stem.

Stranger things can happen. That is a coincedence. When I was about 11 or 12 years old, there was a time that I had trouble walking and using my hands. No doctor ever found out what was wrong. Twenty-something years later I was diagnosed with MS. Go figure.

Yeah, yours is probably more likely connected than mine. Weird how there are signs but you just don't know what they're pointing to.

Guessing mine was just a weird coincidence. Kinda made me stop and think for a second though!

when i was a kid, one of my legs used to just stop supporting me when i was walking and i'd hit the ground. i never thought anything about it, i just figured it was one of those things from a kid injury.

I don't hear music, but I have been awakened by the sound of a thud just behind my headboard, a cue stick hitting a billiards ball, voices, the doorbell when no one is there, the telephone ringing, all sounds that never happened.
Sometimes I have trouble distinguishing hallucinations from reality.

auditory halucinations!!! i'm pre- SPA/AUD so i can answer!!

you have auditory neurons, and they can be attacked as part of ms. your ears have an all/none like response, so you hear or you don't

sometimes, the damage can cause you to hear sounds that aren't there just because the nerve is interpreting false signals,

like, my ears ring constantly, when this happens, it can be from damage from the actual structures to the inner ear, you can sometimes hear the ringing (which is weird) in this case or, it's nerve damage. obviously, mine is from nerve damage from ms

I don't have auditory hallucinations any more but I do have some hearing issues. I have trouble with loud noises. Sometimes it physically hurts to hear a sudden loud noise (if that makes sense, it's like my brain winces). Also, if I'm tired and overstimulated with unrelenting noise my ears will actually stop interpreting sound and all I get is a horrible crackling noise. Then there's the constant sound in my right ear....less ringing and more tonal. Point is, I do still have ear issues so who knows.

Hummingbird and Malina, thanks for the input! I didn't really know it was an MS related thing. I don't know what I was expecting when I googled it.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
